How To Reach Jhojha Waterfall

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India
Natural Splendor and Adventure: Jhojha Waterfall is a magnificent hidden gem located in the newly formed Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. This waterfall is renowned for its raw, untouched beauty and is considered the largest and most beautiful in the region. The water plunges from a height of approx imately 100 feet, creating a misty veil that cools the surrounding dense forest. What makes Jhojha unique is its tiered structure; it is actually a series of four waterfalls that fall one after the other, creating a spectacular visual rhythm. The site is a sanctuary for biodiversity, where rare birds and vibrant flocks of butterflies are common sights along the riverbanks. To reach the main fall, visitors must undertake a short but invigorating 1-kilometer trek through a scenic trail surrounded by medicinal plants like Bhui Amla and Wild Chiraita. This destination is perfect for those who want to escape the artificiality of city life and reconnect with the wild. It serves as an ideal spot for family picnics, adventure camping, and nature photography. The local tribal community manages the site through a tourism committee, offering a glimpse into the local lifestyle and ensuring the preservation of the pristine environment.

By Road: You can drive from Bilaspur via the Ratanpur-Pendra highway. The roads are scenic but can be winding in the ghat sections. Direct buses to Gaurela are available from the Bilaspur bus stand.

By Local Transport: Once you reach Gaurela or Pendra, you can hire local jeeps or 'Commander' taxis which are better suited for the rugged forest roads leading to the Bastibgara village.
