A Modern Megastructure for Water Security: The Mid Manair Reservoir is a gigantic, modern water storage facility built across the Manair River, a critical component of the ambitious Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), one of the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation projects. Although a dministratively located in the Rajanna Sircilla District, it is a key water resource for the adjacent Karimnagar region and a major attraction near the city. With a capacity of 25.87 Tmcft (Thousand Million Cubic Feet), its main function is to serve as a massive balancing reservoir. It receives water lifted from the Godavari River via the KLIS and also from the SRSP Flood Flow Canal, stabilizing the supply to millions of acres of farmland and the downstream Lower Manair Dam (LMD). The project's construction began in 2005 and was completed in 2018, representing a monumental investment and a massive leap in regional water infrastructure.
