By Air (Nearest Airport) The: The nearest major airport to Dumka is Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (Durgapur, West Bengal, RDP), approximately 170 KMS away, or Birsa Munda Airport (Ranchi, IXR), approximately 275 KMS away. The most practical airport is often Ranchi or Patna (PAT), as they have better connectivity. From the airport, one must hire a pre-booked taxi or use a bus service to reach Dumka. The total journey time from the airport to Dumka can range from 4 to 7 hours depending on the specific airport and road conditions. It is advisable to pre-arrange ground transport for a hassle-free journey.
By Train (Nearest Railway Station) The: Dumka Railway Station (DUMK) is the local railway station, which connects to major cities like Ranchi, Patna, and Bhagalpur.
