Shivagiri Pilgrimage Center: Shivagiri is one of the most prominent modern landmarks in Bijapur, known primarily for its colossal 85-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva. Established by the T.K. Patil Banakatti Charitable Trust, this site has quickly grown into a major pilgrimage and tourist destination s ince its inauguration in 2006. The statue is made of cement and steel, weighing about 1,500 tonnes, and is currently the third-largest Shiva statue in India. The complex is spread over a large area and includes a temple, a small museum, and beautiful landscaped gardens. It provides a spiritual and serene environment for devotees and tourists alike to meditate and offer prayers. The site also serves as a center for various philanthropic activities, reflecting the spiritual and social commitment of the trust.
