The Biranchi Narayan Temple is one of the most ancient temples in Odisha, dedicated to Lord Brahma, who is enshrined as a four-faced image of the Sun. The temple is located in the village of Palia, on the way from Bhadrak to Chandabali. The temple is a great example of the heritage of Surya Upasana (Sun worship) in Odisha. The temple's main deity is a square stone that contains four carved images of the Sun God in relief. The figures are depicted standing on chariots drawn by seven horses, holding two lotuses in their hands. The temple is believed to have been built in the 13th century, and it was renovated and reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century.
