It hosts the new administrative headquarters, various government facilities, educational institutions, and new residential colonies. This infrastructure development has transformed the plateau into the modern functional center of Kargil. Modern Development and Future Vision: The plateau is notable for its panoramic view, often referred to as the Kargil City View Point, from where visitors can see the meandering Suru River, the sprawl of the main town, and the towering mountains in the distance, including the Tiger Hill area far in the Drass direction. Its elevation (slightly higher than the town's 2,676m/8,780ft) offers clearer air and wider vistas.
