FAQs On Nagarjuna Sagar View Point
Nagarjunakonda, Telangana, India
The Nagarjuna Sagar View Point is the most sought-after spot for tourists who want to grasp the true scale of the dam and the reservoir. Located at a higher elevation, it provides an unobstructed 360-degree view of the entire landscape. From here, you can see the majestic Krishna River winding its way through the valleys and the massive dam structure standing tall against the current. It is the perfect place to appreciate the engineering marvel that was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The breeze at this height is refreshing, making it a popular spot for visitors to relax and take in the scenery. The view point is particularly crowded during the monsoon season when the gates are open, as it offers a safe yet thrilling view of the water discharge. It serves as an educational spot where one can see the division between the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The surrounding rocky terrain and sparse vegetation add a rugged charm to the location. Most visitors spend at least an hour here just gazing at the horizon where the blue water meets the blue sky. It is easily accessible by road and has dedicated parking areas. The path leading to the view point is well-maintained, allowing for a comfortable walk even for elderly tourists. It is truly the "eye" of the region, providing a visual summary of the entire Nagarjunakonda valley.
