Things To Do
The **Nadine Le Prince Haveli**, originally known as the **Nand Lal Devra Haveli**, was constructed in **1802** by a prominent merchant family, the Devras. Like many **Havelis** in the region, it was eventually abandoned and fell into disrepair, leading to the deterioration of its exquisite wall paintings. However, in **1998**, this architectural gem was purchased by French artist **Nadine Le Prince**, who undertook a meticulous and passionate effort to restore the frescoes and the building's structural integrity. Her vision was to transform the decaying mansion into a thriving cultural centre. Today, it stands as arguably the most well-preserved haveli in **Fatehpur**, showcasing a unique fusion of traditional Rajasthani architecture and contemporary French art and culture. The restoration process itself is a testament to the preservation of heritage, highlighting fresco techniques that date back over two centuries. Visitors are treated to detailed depictions of Hindu legends, scenes from daily life, floral motifs, and early glimpses of Western influence, such as European women or furniture, painted by local artists centuries ago. The atmosphere is quiet, artistic, and deeply respectful of the building's long history. The centre also includes a small gallery and a garden bar, offering a place for reflection after the detailed guided tour, which is often led by art-history students. This unique private initiative has put **Fatehpur** on the global map for cultural tourism.Show All**Shri Do Janti Balaji Dham** is one of the most revered Hindu temples in the **Shekhawati** region, dedicated to **Lord Hanuman**, also known as **Balaji**. The name of the temple is steeped in local history: `Do Janti` literally means "two **Janti**" (or **Khejdi** trees). In earlier times, when the National Highway was being developed, two prominent **Khejdi** trees stood at this spot, marking the entrance or a major checkpoint for travelers coming to **Fatehpur**. For passersby, reaching the two **Janti** trees signified the arrival at **Fatehpur**. A small, ancient temple of **Balaji** already existed nearby, and over time, it became famously known as the **Do Janti Balaji Temple**. The temple underwent a major renovation in **1992** by the Prabhudayal Sharma of the Bochiwal family, transforming it into the larger complex seen today. Devotees hold an unshakable belief that a sincere visit and prayer here can result in their wishes being granted, drawing pilgrims from all over **Rajasthan** and **India**. It is a major stop on the religious circuit of the region, often visited alongside other famous **Balaji** temples like **Salasar Balaji**.Information
