The Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple is one of the most prominent Shakti Peeths in North India, dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi. Spread over 100 acres in the Shivalik foothills, this temple is a massive complex that includes two main shrines. The oldest one was built by Maharaja Gopal Singh of Manimajra between 1811 and 1815. The second, known as the Patiala Temple, was constructed by the Maharaja of Patiala in 1840. According to mythology, the head of Devi Sati fell here, making it a site of immense spiritual power. The deity is worshipped in the form of a Pindi (stone) and a marble idol. The temple is famous for its beautiful murals and wall paintings that depict scenes from Hindu scriptures. During the Navratri melas, the temple attracts millions of devotees from across the country. The Haryana Government manages the shrine through a dedicated board, ensuring excellent facilities for pilgrims. The complex also features a beautiful garden with sacred plants and several smaller temples dedicated to other deities. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the scenic backdrop of the hills, makes it a perfect place for prayer and contemplation. It is not just a religious site but also a center for cultural heritage, preserving the traditional art and architecture of the region.
