How To Reach Baba Basukinath Dham

By Air: The nearest major airport is Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport (IXR), located approximately 270 KMS away. From Ranchi, one can hire a private taxi, take a pre-booked cab, or use state transport bus services to reach Dumka, and then travel to Basukinath. Alternatively, the Patna's Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (PAT) is another option, approximately 370 KMS away, also requiring a road or rail journey onward. The closest functional airport for ease of travel, however, is Deoghar Airport (DGH) at about 45 KMS, which offers better road connectivity, making it the most practical air route. Private or shared taxis are readily available outside these airports for the final leg of the journey. The road journey from Deoghar is the fastest.

By Local Transport: Within Dumka or between Dumka and Basukinath, local transport options include shared Auto-Rickshaws (Tuk-Tuks), which are the most common and economical way to travel the 24 KMS distance. Private Taxis and Cabs can be hired for a more comfortable, direct journey. For short distances around the temple, one can use cycle rickshaws or simply walk.
