By Air: The nearest major airport is Birsa Munda Airport (Ranchi, Code: IXR), approximately 250 KMS away, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (Kolkata, Code: CCU), which is about 350 KMS away, from the airport, one must hire a taxi or take a bus/train to Giridih, followed by local transport to the pool.

By Train: The Giridih Railway Station (GRD) is the closest station, which is connected to Madhupur Junction (MDP), a major station is Parasnath Railway Station (PNME), approximately 48 KMS from Giridih on the Howrah-Delhi Grand Chord Line, from the station, you can hire a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw directly to Barakar Pool in Matrukha (around 18-20 KMS).

By Road: Giridih city is well-connected by road, and the NH 19 (Grand Trunk Road) passes through the district, you can reach Giridih by bus from major cities like Dhanbad, Ranchi, Kolkata, Patna, and Hazaribagh, from the Giridih Bus Terminus, hire a private taxi or a local cab for the final leg of the journey to the pool.

By Local Transport: From Giridih town, the best way to reach Barakar Pool is by hiring a private taxi or a local cab for a return trip, shared auto-rickshaws (autos or trekkers) might be available from the town towards Matrukha village, but they may drop you off at the main road, requiring a short walk or another ride to the exact pool location.
