Bhivpuri Waterfalls is a magnificent natural cascade located near the small village of Bhivpuri, though often associated with the larger tourist area of Matheran due to its proximity as a major trekking destination and weekend getaway. It's nestled in the lush Sahyadri mountain range, specifically i n the Karjat Taluka. During the monsoon season, typically from June to September, the waterfall swells into a breathtaking sight, with water plunging from a height of over 20 feet. It's a popular spot for adventure activities like waterfall rappelling and trekking. The surrounding area is characterized by dense greenery, rocky terrain, and a serene, untouched natural environment, providing a perfect escape from city life, especially for people from Mumbai and Pune. The name Bhivpuri Road also refers to the nearest railway station on the Central Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, making it highly accessible for day trips. The base village for the trek is often Bhivpuri itself. The total trek from the railway station to the falls is relatively short, making it suitable for both novice and experienced trekkers. The raw, unspoiled beauty of the falls and the verdant slopes of the Western Ghats make it a standout location. Visitors are advised to be cautious, as the rocks can be extremely slippery during the rainy season, adding an element of challenge to the adventure. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest major airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai (Approx. 80 KMS). From the airport, one must take a taxi, bus, or local train to Karjat or Bhivpuri Road station.

By Train: This is the most popular and recommended way. Take a Mumbai Suburban Railway Central Line train towards Karjat. Alight at Bhivpuri Road station. The waterfalls are a short auto-rickshaw ride (about 10 minutes) or a 30-40 minute walk/trek from the station. The railway journey offers scenic views, especially after Badlapur.

By Road: Bhivpuri is well-connected by state highways. From Mumbai (approx. 80 KMS) or Pune (approx. 120 KMS), drive to Karjat and then proceed to Bhivpuri village. Note that road conditions can be poor during the monsoon. Parking is available at the base village.

By Local Transport: From Bhivpuri Road station, local shared auto-rickshaws are available to ferry visitors to the trekking start point. For a more authentic experience, one can simply walk from the station, following the clear path and signage towards the falls. :
