How to Reach

By Air: The closest major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam (approx. 190 KMS). From GAU, hire a pre-paid taxi or take a bus to Shillong, then switch to a local shared taxi for Dawki. Shillong Airport (SHL) is closer but has limited connectivity.

By Train: The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) (Assam, approx. 175 KMS). From GHY, the onward journey is solely by road, involving a bus or taxi via Shillong.

By Road: Dawki is well-connected by NH206. It is about 85 KMS from Shillong (approx. 2. 5-3 hours). Regular shared and private taxis operate from Shillong's Police Bazaar. The drive is scenic but winding.

By Local Transport: Local shared taxis (sumos) are the primary mode of transport from Shillong and surrounding villages like Mawlynnong. Inside Dawki, walking is the best way to reach the check post from the market/river area.
