How To Reach Chandani Waterfall

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India
Details: Chandani Waterfall is a hidden natural jewel located near the village of Belgahana in the Bilaspur district. This waterfall is relatively less known to mainstream tourists, making it an ideal spot for those seeking solitude. The name "Chandani" (meaning moonlight) comes from the way the wat er shimmers like silver as it falls over the rocks. Surrounded by dense forests and rugged terrain, the journey to the waterfall is as exciting as the destination itself. The water cascades from a moderate height into a clear pool, creating a refreshing atmosphere. During the monsoon, the waterfall transforms into a roaring torrent, filling the air with mist. The surrounding area is rich in biodiversity, and you can often hear the chirping of rare forest birds. It is a popular spot for local villagers to relax and for young adventurers to go on weekend trips. There are no major commercial developments around, which helps in maintaining its raw, natural charm. The rocks around the waterfall are ancient and weathered, providing great spots for sitting and reflecting. To reach the falls, one often has to navigate through narrow forest paths that are not well-marked. This adds a sense of discovery to the trip. The water is generally clean and cool, perfect for a quick dip during the summer months. It is one of those places where you can truly disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. The silence of the forest, broken only by the sound of falling water, is incredibly therapeutic. Families from nearby towns often come here for small picnics, bringing their own food and water. It remains a testament to the untouched beauty of the Chhattisgarh wilderness. Visiting here is a reminder of the simple joys that nature provides without any entry fees or crowds. It is best visited with a local who knows the forest routes well.:
