How To Reach Dabarsaini Hill

Giridih, Jharkhand, India:
Natural Beauty and Challenge: Dabarsaini Hill is a prominent natural landmark in the Giridih district, offering a blend of natural beauty and a moderate trekking challenge. It is cherished by locals and a growing number of tourists as a serene escape from the town's hustle and bustle. The hill's rug ged terrain is characterized by large, scattered rock formations, typical of the Chota Nagpur Plateau region. Its slopes are covered in dense vegetation, including indigenous trees and shrubs, which contribute to the rich, oxygenated air and a tranquil environment. The trek to the summit is considered a rewarding experience, as the higher altitude provides a comprehensive, breathtaking panoramic view of the entire surrounding landscape of Giridih town and the distant plains and hills. This viewpoint is particularly valued for its untouched, raw, and untamed nature. The hill is largely undeveloped, with no major commercial infrastructure, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate natural solitude and adventure. The quietude of the place encourages moments of reflection and peace, attracting not just adventure seekers but also nature lovers and photographers looking for pristine landscapes. Its status as a natural, geological feature is what defines its character and appeal to visitors from all over. The hill symbolizes the natural heritage of Jharkhand, the 'Land of Forests'.:

How to Reach

By Air (Nearest Airport): The hill is not directly accessible by air. The nearest major commercial airport is Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) in Ranchi, which is approximately 200-210 KMS away by road. Alternatively, Gaya Airport (GAY) in Bihar (approx. 150-160 KMS) and Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) (approx. 320-330 KMS) are also viable options for long-distance travelers. From any of these airports, travelers must take a taxi, bus, or train connection to reach Giridih town. An airstrip, Boro Aerodrome, exists near Giridih, but it currently caters only to non-scheduled or charter flights, making it non-viable for regular travelers.

By Train (Nearest Major Junctions): The main connectivity is via rail. The Giridih Railway Station (GRD) is the closest station, located within 10-15 KMS of the hill. It is connected to Madhupur Junction (MDP). The more major rail hub is Parasnath Railway Station (PNME) on the busy Howrah-Delhi Grand Chord line, situated about 48 KMS from Giridih city center. From Parasnath or Madhupur, one can easily hire a local taxi or bus to reach Giridih town.

By Road (Bus and Private Vehicle): Giridih is well-connected by road, primarily through the NH 19 (Grand Trunk Road), which runs close to the district. Regular bus services operate from major cities like Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Kolkata, and Patna to the Giridih Bus Terminus. From the Bus Terminus, travelers must hire a local transport option. If traveling by a private vehicle, one can drive directly to the base of the hill, which is located in the Markodih area, using local maps for navigation to Basant Nagar, Dabarsaini Chowk.

By Local Transport (From Giridih City): From the main bus stand or railway station in Giridih, the best way to reach Dabarsaini Hill is by hiring a local auto-rickshaw (shared or private), a taxi (cab), or a private hired car. The distance is manageable (around 12-15 KMS). Negotiate the fare for a round trip, including waiting time, as finding transport for the return journey from the hill's base might be difficult. Shared auto-rickshaws might be available to the nearby Markodih village, requiring a short walk or a separate negotiation from there. :
