How To Reach Elgandal Fort
Karimnagar, Telangana, India:
Elgandal Fort is a majestic hill fort with a history dating back to the Kakatiya Dynasty (11th to 13th centuries), making it one of the most significant heritage sites in the region. Strategically located on the banks of the Manair River, it has been controlled by a succession of dynasties, includin g the Qutb Shahis, Mughals, and the Nizams of Hyderabad. For a long period, it served as the administrative headquarters for the Karimnagar region until 1905. The fort complex is extensive, featuring strong fortifications, a deep moat, granaries, and several religious structures. The most famous structure is the Alamgir Mosque with its unique oscillating minarets, locally called the Do Minar or Teen Minar.
