How To Reach Hadahadwa Waterfall

Giridih, Jharkhand, India
Hadahadwa Waterfall, located deep within the rustic landscape of Koiridih in the Giridih district, is a pristine natural wonder that remains largely untouched by commercial tourism. This waterfall is formed by a mountain stream that cascades down several tiers of rugged rocks, creating a soothing s ound that resonates through the surrounding forest. The name "Hadahadwa" is derived from the local sound of the rushing water hitting the stones. Unlike the more famous Usri Falls, this location offers a sense of isolation and raw beauty, making it a favorite for adventurous souls and those seeking a spiritual connection with nature. The water is crystal clear and remains cool even during the peak of summer, thanks to the thick canopy of trees that shelters the stream. The trek to the waterfall involves navigating through small village paths and rocky patches, which adds to the thrill of the visit. The geological formations around the falls are fascinating, with large granite boulders scattered across the riverbed, worn smooth by centuries of water flow. During the rainy season, the waterfall gains immense power, transforming into a thunderous white curtain of water. It is a vital water source for the local tribal communities who live in harmony with the forest. Visitors are often captivated by the diversity of flora and fauna in the area, including rare wildflowers and various species of butterflies. The site is perfect for those who want to experience the authentic "Land of Forests" that Jharkhand is known for. It is recommended to travel in a group and hire a local guide from the village to ensure a safe and enriching experience.
