Its name is derived from the local deity, Goddess Honnammana, whom the villagers worship. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest major airport is Mangaluru International Airport (IXE), approximately 180 KMS away. The falls are best reached by taking a private taxi or bus to Chikmagalur and then continuing the journey by road.

By Train: The nearest major railway station is Kadur (KDU), about 57 KMS away. From Kadur, one can take a bus or taxi to Chikmagalur. From Chikmagalur town, the rest of the journey must be completed by road.

By Road - From Chikmagalur: Honnamana Falls is located approximately 22 KMS from the Chikmagalur City Center, situated directly on the main road (SH 57) leading towards Baba Budangiri Peak, near the village of Attigundi. The road is well-maintained, winding, and scenic, making the drive enjoyable. The journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

By Local Transport: Local buses and shared jeeps plying the Chikmagalur-Baba Budangiri route stop right at the falls, making it extremely easy and cost-effective to reach. A private taxi or cab hired from Chikmagalur for a day trip to the mountain peaks is the most comfortable and direct way, with the falls being a mandatory, quick, and convenient stop en route, often included in the same fare as the trip to Baba Budangiri:
