How To Reach Rani Sati Mandir
How to Reach
By Train:: Jamtara has its own railway station, the Jamtara Railway Station (JMT), which is well-connected to major cities of West Bengal and Jharkhand as it lies on the Howrah-Patna-Mughalsarai main line. Trains from Kolkata (Howrah or Sealdah), Dhanbad, Ranchi, and Patna frequently stop here. Upon arrival at Jamtara Station, the temple is located on the Dumka-Jamtara Road, in the Chitra area, an estimated 15-18 km distance. This is generally the most convenient way to reach Jamtara city.
By Road:: Jamtara is well-connected by National and State Highways. The temple is located directly on the Dumka-Jamtara Road (SH 10), which links it to Dumka and the main Jamtara town. Regular bus services operate from nearby major towns and cities like Asansol (in West Bengal), Dhanbad, Dumka, and Ranchi. Travelers can also hire private taxis or drive their own vehicles. The journey from Dhanbad takes approximately 2-3 hours, while from Kolkata or Ranchi it takes around 6-8 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
By Local Transport:: Once in Jamtara, to reach the temple (15-18 km from the center), one can hire a local auto-rickshaw, a cycle-rickshaw (for shorter distances within the town), or a shared cab (Tempo). Auto-rickshaws are the most common and convenient way to travel from Jamtara Railway Station or the main bus stand directly to the Rani Sati Mandir in Chitra. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting the journey.
