How To Reach Savandurga

Savandurga is a hill comprising two major rock formations known as Karigudda (black hill) and Biligudda (white hill). It is considered one of the largest monolithic rocks in Asia, offering a unique and challenging trekking experience. The hills rise steeply from the surrounding plains, providing pa noramic views of the landscape, including the Arkavathi River and the nearby Thippagondanahalli Reservoir. Trekking to the summit of either Karigudda or Biligudda involves navigating rocky terrain, and it's advisable to go with experienced local guides, especially for the steeper sections. The ruins of a fort built by Kempe Gowda II can be found at the base of the hills. The area is also home to several temples, including the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple and Sri Veerabhadraswamy Temple. Savandurga is a haven for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers seeking a challenging yet rewarding outdoor experience. Savandurga is accessible by road from Bengaluru. You can hire a taxi or a private vehicle. Buses also ply towards Magadi, from where you can take local transport to Savandurga.
