Another legend connects the name Mallikarjun to the defeat of the demon Malla by Shiva, who assumed the form of a hunter to save one of the Pandava brothers, Arjuna. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport is Goa International Airport (Dabolim Airport - DBO), located approximately 74 KMS away. From the airport, hire a direct taxi or take a bus/cab to Margao, and then a local bus or taxi to Sristhal village, near Canacona. The total journey time is about 2 hours.

By Train: The closest railhead is Canacona Railway Station (CNO), located approximately 7 KMS from the temple. The major junction is Margao Railway Station (MAO), which is about 40 KMS away. From Canacona station, a local auto-rickshaw or a short taxi ride is the easiest way to reach the temple. It takes about 15-20 minutes.

By Road: The temple is situated in Sristhal village, which is about 7 KMS northeast of Canacona town (Chaudi). It is easily accessible via the main Margao-Karwar Road. Hiring a private taxi, renting a scooter (the most flexible option), or taking a local bus from Canacona are the main road options. The roads are generally well-maintained. The temple is a known landmark in the area.

By Local Transport: A local auto-rickshaw or taxi from Canacona town or Palolem Beach (approx. 7. 3 KMS) is the most convenient way for tourists. Local buses also stop nearby, but this requires an understanding of the local routes. (Approx. )
