How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airports are Srinagar (SXR) (140 KMS) or Leh (IXL) (270 KMS). From either airport, a taxi must be booked to reach the Drass Valley via the NH1 highway, which runs directly past the carving site:

By Train: The journey begins at the distant Jammu Tawi (JAT) railhead, followed by an extensive bus or car journey to Srinagar and subsequently to the Drass sector of the NH1:

By Road: Road is the most practical way, as the Stiaqbo site is a roadside feature on the Srinagar-Leh Highway (NH1). Travelers can arrive by state-run bus or pre-booked private taxi from Srinagar or Kargil. It is easily reachable from Drass town, being only about 2 KMS away on the main road:

By Local Transport: The site is within comfortable walking distance from the main Drass town market, taking about 25 minutes. Alternatively, any local taxi or shared jeep running on the NH1 highway from Drass towards Zoji La will pass the site, making a quick and affordable drop-off a simple matter of negotiation with the driver:
