Khrangsuri Waterfalls

Amlarem, Meghalaya, India
Krang Suri Falls, often spelled as Khrangsuri, is arguably the most beautiful waterfall in Meghalaya, known for its surreal turquoise-blue water and its dramatic location within a limestone canyon. Located just a few kilometers from Amlarem, this waterfall is a masterpiece of nature. The water casc ades over a wide limestone ledge into a deep, circular pool that looks like a giant sapphire from a distance. The surrounding cliffs are draped in thick ferns and moss, creating a "lost world" aesthetic. What makes Krang Suri truly special is that visitors can actually walk behind the waterfall into a natural cave-like space, feeling the thunderous roar and the cool mist of the falling water. The path leading to the falls is carved out of stone and winds along the edge of the mountain, offering stunning vistas of the gorge. Unlike many other falls that dry up, Krang Suri maintains its magical blue color throughout the winter and spring, though it turns into a powerful brown torrent during the peak monsoon. The area has been developed with safety railings and changing rooms, making it a top-tier destination for swimmers and photographers alike.
