Mawmih Falls

Umsning, Meghalaya, India
The Untamed Fall: Mawmih Falls is a spectacular natural waterfall that drops from a significant height into a deep, rocky basin. Unlike the commercial waterfalls in Sohra, Mawmih remains relatively untouched and wild. The sound of the falling water can be heard from a distance, echoing through the d ense forest. To reach the base, visitors must hike through a moderately difficult forest trail. The mist created by the falls keeps the surrounding rocks covered in lush green moss.Adventure Haven: The area is perfect for those who love raw nature and a bit of a challenge. The pool at the bottom is cold and refreshing, though swimming is only advised for experts due to the current. The trail to the falls is lined with ancient trees and rare ferns. It is a place of solitude where one can spend hours listening to the rhythm of nature. The waterfall is at its most powerful during the late monsoon, creating a thundering spectacle of white foam.
