Panki Shiv Mandir

Medininagar, Jharkhand, India
The Panki Shiv Mandir is a revered religious site that attracts thousands of devotees from across the Palamu division. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is known for its peaceful atmosphere and the large banyan tree that shades its courtyard. It is believed that the temple site is ancient, though the current structure has undergone several renovations. The temple serves as a communal hub for the local villagers, who gather here for daily prayers and social discussions. During the month of Shravan, the temple becomes a focal point for "Kanwariyas" who bring holy water from the rivers to offer to the deity. The internal sanctum houses a beautifully carved Shivalinga. The temple complex also includes smaller shrines dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha. The vibration of the evening "Aarti" is a soul-stirring experience for visitors. It represents the deep-rooted religious fabric of rural Jharkhand.
