The Chinnamasta Temple at Rajrappa is one of the most significant and ancient pilgrimage sites in India, dedicated to the headless Goddess Chhinnamasta. Situated at the scenic confluence of the Damodar and Bhairavi (Bhera) rivers, the temple holds immense spiritual energy. The presiding deity is de picted as a goddess who has severed her own head, holding it in one hand while three streams of blood spurt from her neck to feed her attendants and herself. Millions of devotees from Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal visit annually to seek blessings. The atmosphere is filled with the scent of incense and the sound of bells and rushing river water. The site is particularly famous for the "sacrifice" rituals performed on specific days. Beyond its religious value, the location is a geological wonder where the Bhairavi river drops into the Damodar from a height, creating a beautiful natural waterfall.
