Pinjore Gardens
Detailed Overview: Pinjore Gardens, also known as Yadavindra Gardens, is a 17th-century masterpiece of Mughal architecture located in the town of Pinjore. Spread over 100 acres, the garden was designed by Fidai Khan, the foster brother of Emperor Aurangzeb. It is unique because it follows a "terrace d" layout, descending into the valley rather than ascending. The gardens were later refurbished by the Maharaja of Patiala, Yadavindra Singh, after whom they are currently named. The site is famous for its symmetrical beauty, flowing water channels, and grand palaces built on different levels. It serves as a popular picnic spot and a historical landmark that showcases the engineering brilliance of the medieval era. The gardens are particularly beautiful in the evening when the fountains are illuminated. It is a living monument of the Patiala dynasty’s contribution to preserving heritage. The lush greenery and the cool breeze from the fountains make it a refreshing retreat.
