Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary
Established in 1952, the Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of approximately 130 square kilometers. It was once the private hunting grounds of the Nizams of Hyderabad, but today it stands as a protected haven for a diverse array of flora and fauna. The sanctuary is unique because it encompa sses both forest land and the wetlands created by the Pocharam Lake. It is home to several endangered and beautiful species, including the Leopard, Wolf, Sloth Bear, and the Four-horned Antelope.
