Prem Mandir
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir on Kalavad Road, often referred to locally as a temple of love and peace, is a spiritual landmark in Rajkot. Constructed in 1998 by the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), it is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Built entirely according to the ancient Vedic Shilpa Shastra, it uses no steel or concrete in the main structure, relying instead on the strength of interlocking stones. The temple is made from Ambaji Marble and Udaipur Pink Stone, giving it a glowing appearance. Inside, the sanctum houses the beautiful idols of Lord Swaminarayan, Gunatitanand Swami, and Gopalanand Swami. The temple complex also serves as a hub for social and humanitarian activities, including disaster relief and youth development.
