The Sri Madhava Swamy Temple is a magnificent architectural marvel that serves as a testament to the artistic grandeur of the 16th-century rulers of the Jetprole Samasthanam. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Madhava Swamy, the temple was originally located on the banks of the Krishna River i n Manchalakatta Village. Similar to the Somasila temples, this structure was also relocated to its current site in Kollapur during the late 1980s to prevent it from being submerged by the Srisailam Reservoir. The temple is famous for its intricate stone carvings that adorn every inch of its walls and pillars. The Dasa-Avatar (ten incarnations) of Lord Vishnu are depicted with such detail and precision that they are considered among the finest examples of late Vijayanagara and Deccan temple art. The main deity, Lord Madhava, is carved in black stone and exudes a powerful spiritual presence. The temple complex is spacious and serene, featuring a large outer 'Prakara' and several subsidiary shrines. The craftsmanship on the ceilings and the ornate carvings of the temple's base (Adhisthana) are particularly noteworthy.
