Pack thermal wear, heavy woolens, insulated jackets, gloves, and a woolen hat. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential due to the high-altitude sun.Accommodation - Best Base: While basic guesthouses and homestays are available in Drass town, most tourists prefer to stay in Kargil Town (60 KMS away), which offers more hotel choices and amenities. Booking well in advance for the peak season (June-September) is crucial.Respect and Conduct: Maintain absolute silence and decorum. The memorial is an active military site and a place of deep national reverence. Do not cross any marked 'Restricted' areas.
