Altitude Acclimatization: Drass is at 10,800 feet. Take a full day to rest in Drass or Kargil before attempting strenuous activity. Walk slowly in the valley.

Respect Local Culture: The valley is a pastoral and cultural area for the Dard community. Ask for permission before taking close-up photos of locals, and respect their grazing grounds.
Leave No Trace: Carry all your trash back with you. Maintain the pristine condition of the meadow, as it is a fragile, high-altitude ecosystem.
Permits: No special permit is needed for visiting the valley itself.
