Introduction: Irshalgad Fort is a compact hill fort and renowned trekking destination located between Matheran and Panvel. It is distinguished by its sheer, needle-like pinnacle, called Irshal Peak or Nedhe, which requires a technical climb. The fort itself is more of a historical watchtower and out post rather than a major fortification. Key Features: Perched at about 1,936 feet (590 meters), it offers panoramic views of neighboring forts like Prabalgad and the Matheran range, along with the Morbe Dam reservoir. The trek is rated easy to moderate, making it popular among beginner and intermediate trekkers. It has historical significance dating back to the Maratha rule under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
