Molangur Fort is a magnificent historical site built by Voragiri Moggaraju, a general under the Kakatiya king Prathapa Rudra. The fort was strategically constructed on a massive, steep granite hill to serve as a transit halt between the Warangal Fort and the Elgandal Fort. Its location was chosen f or its natural defenses, as the smooth, steep slopes of the granite hill make it nearly impossible to scale from any side. The fort consists of multiple gateways, ruined walls, and various stone structures that have survived the passage of time. As you trek up the hill, you can see historical inscriptions carved into the boulders, describing the fort's history and its builders. The fort complex houses ancient temples, a Dargah, and unique water bodies. It offers a panoramic view of the surrounding Karimnagar countryside, characterized by lush green fields and rocky outcrops. This site is a favorite for trekkers and history buffs who enjoy exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations. Despite its historical significance, the fort remains relatively peaceful, providing a quiet atmosphere for reflection and exploration.
