This involves interlocking horizontal wooden beams with stone masonry without the use of cement or mortar. The houses are typically two-storied, with the ground floor used for livestock and the upper floor for living quarters.
Dimensions and Structure: A standard traditional house in the village measures approximately 30 feet by 20 feet in base area. The roofs are slanted and covered with local slate tiles to withstand heavy snowfall during the Winter season. The wooden balconies, often called 'Pandal', feature intricate carvings of floral and geometric patterns. This architectural style is highly earthquake-resistant due to its flexible structure. -
