Gayatri Water Falls
Gayatri Water Falls, often referred to locally as Gadidha Gundam, is perhaps the most secluded and pristine waterfall in the Adilabad district. Located on the Kadam River, a tributary of the Godavari, this waterfall is hidden deep within the dense forests of the Neredigonda mandal. Unlike the more famous Kuntala and Pochera falls, Gayatri requires a significant effort to reach, involving a 5 KM trek through thick jungle and over rocky terrain. This isolation has preserved its raw, natural beauty, making it a favorite for hardcore adventure enthusiasts and nature photographers. The waterfall plunges from a height of approximately 100 Feet into a deep, turquoise-colored pool. The sight of the water cascading down the dark granite rocks, surrounded by a canopy of ancient trees, is nothing short of magical. The mist from the falls creates a cooling effect that is a welcome relief after the long trek. Visitors must be cautious as the rocks near the pool are extremely slippery and the depth of the water is deceptive. There are no paved paths or commercial facilities here, so one must carry all necessary supplies. The trek itself is an experience, passing through tribal hamlets and crossing small streams. The best time to visit is immediately after the Monsoon, when the river is full but the forest paths are manageable. It is strongly advised to take a local villager from Tarnam Khurd as a guide, as it is very easy to lose one's way in the dense foliage. Gayatri Water Falls is a true hidden gem that offers a sense of discovery and a profound connection with the wilderness of Telangana. :
