The fort has seven levels of walls, with secret passages and "holes" in the walls used by soldiers to aim muskets at invaders. The most impressive part is the Rainwater Harvesting Ponds, which are carved directly into the rock. The Shiva temple at the top features a small, traditional Dravidian gopuram and a rock-cut sanctum. The total height of the hill is approximately 300 feet from the base. The stone steps are roughly 500 in number, making the ascent manageable. -
