Gurudwara Guptsar Sahib in Chhattiana is a site of immense historical importance, marking the spot where Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed after the battle of Khidrana. The name 'Guptsar' literally means "Hidden Pool" or "Secret Tank," referring to a historical well that was once hidden in the dense fore st. Legend has it that the Guru paid his soldiers here using gold coins. When some soldiers demanded more and then felt greedy, the Guru buried the remaining treasure, which the villagers could never find despite their efforts. Another significant event here was the baptism of a Muslim saint, Peer Sayyad Ibrahim, who became a Khalsa named Ajmer Singh after being inspired by the Guru. This transformation highlights the Guru's message that spirituality transcends religious labels. The Gurudwara today is a grand complex that stands as a beacon of faith in the Malwa heartland. It serves as a reminder of the Guru's generosity and his ability to turn even a desert-like area into a place of spiritual abundance.
