Gurudwara Nabha Sahib
Historical Significance: Gurudwara Nabha Sahib is a prominent historical shrine located near Zirakpur, on the road towards Rajpura and Patiala. It commemorates the visit of the Tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji (1666–1708), who rested here after the Battle of Bhangani in 1688. The original nam e of the village was 'Nabha' or 'Nanheri'. The site became significant because a local resident, a Muslim devotee named Raju Singh, demonstrated profound devotion to the Guru. The Gurdwara's primary importance lies in its connection to the Guru's journey after the key battle, where he regrouped before proceeding to Anandpur Sahib. Commemoration: The shrine also honors the martyrdom of Baba Sukkha Singh and Baba Mehtab Singh of Mirankot, two great Sikh heroes who retrieved the desecrated head of Bhai Mani Singh Ji, a revered martyr, and brought it to this site for cremation. This dual significance—the resting place of the Guru and the place of final rites for the martyrs—makes it a deeply revered pilgrimage spot. Complex and Services: The complex features a main Darbar Sahib, a spacious assembly hall, a Langar Hall, and a Sarai for pilgrims. It is a large, well-managed complex overseen by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
