The Legacy of the Eldest Son of Guru Nanak: Gurudwara Tahli Sahib is a site of immense spiritual significance, built in memory of Baba Shri Chand Ji, the eldest son of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is historical record that Baba Shri Chand Ji stayed at this very location for 40 day s, where he spent his time in intense meditation and prayer. The name 'Tahli Sahib' comes from a Shisham tree (called 'Tahli' in Punjabi) that was reportedly planted by Baba Ji himself. This ancient tree still stands within the complex and is treated with great reverence by all visitors. The site is a bridge between the Udasi sect and mainstream Sikhism, as Baba Shri Chand was the founder of the Udasi order. The Gurudwara provides a very peaceful environment, situated just a short distance from the bustling main road. It is a place where one can truly feel the presence of the divine through the silence and the shade of the old trees. Many devotees believe that performing 'Sewa' (service) here for 40 consecutive days can fulfill one's deepest wishes.
