Mankhim Top View Point is an extraordinary hilltop destination located in the Dalapchand village near Aritar. This spot is historically and culturally significant as it is home to a small temple belonging to the Rai community, an indigenous group of the region. The viewpoint is famous for providing a unique "double view"—to one side, you can see the emerald-green, boot-shaped Lampokhari Lake nestled in the valley, and to the other, the majestic, snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga. The climb to the top is a short but rewarding trek through pine forests and rhododendron bushes. At the summit, the air is thin and pure, and the silence is profound. The site is often used for the Sakewa festival, where the Rai people perform traditional dances and rituals to honor nature. Unlike other crowded viewpoints in Sikkim, Mankhim remains a peaceful haven where one can spend hours just staring at the horizon. The changing colors of the sky during sunrise and sunset at this altitude are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is a place that connects the traveler with the ancient tribal roots of Sikkim while offering some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Eastern Himalayas.
