From the airport, one must hire a pre-paid taxi or take a state transport bus to reach Chamba. The journey is scenic but long, taking around 5-6 hours depending on road and traffic conditions.

By Train: The nearest major railway station is Pathankot Railway Station (PTK) in Punjab, which is about 120 KMS away. Pathankot is well-connected to major Indian cities. From Pathankot, numerous state transport and private buses, as well as shared and private taxis, are readily available to complete the scenic 3-4 hour journey to Chamba.

By Road: Chamba is well-connected by a network of National and State Highways. Regular public bus services, run by Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) and private operators, ply from cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Pathankot, Dharamshala, and Shimla.
