The village is characterized by its makeshift taxi stands, local dhabas serving hot rajma chawal, and trekkers from all over the world preparing their gear. In the month of May, the air is filled with excitement as hundreds of backpackers pass through here to catch the first glimpses of the snow-capped peaks. The village offers a panoramic view of the massive dam being built on the river, which adds a touch of industrial scale to the natural grandeur. From here, you can see the trails branching off toward Tosh, Kalga, and Pulga, making it the central nervous system of the upper Parvati Valley. Despite its role as a transit hub, Barshaini has its own quiet charm, especially in the early mornings of October when the mist rises from the river and the apple orchards turn golden. It is a place of transitions, where the modern world of cars meets the ancient world of mule tracks and mountain paths.
