Sub Place Details: Barshaini is a small but bustling village located at the confluence of the Parvati and Tosh rivers. It serves as the vital gateway for some of the most famous treks in India, including the journey to Kheerganga. Standing at an altitude of about 1,180 meters, this place is where th e road literally ends and the true mountain adventure begins. The village is characterized by its makeshift taxi stands, local dhabas serving hot rajma chawal, and trekkers from all over the world preparing their gear. In the month of May, the air is filled with excitement as hundreds of backpackers pass through here to catch the first glimpses of the snow-capped peaks. The village offers a panoramic view of the massive dam being built on the river, which adds a touch of industrial scale to the natural grandeur. From here, you can see the trails branching off toward Tosh, Kalga, and Pulga, making it the central nervous system of the upper Parvati Valley. Despite its role as a transit hub, Barshaini has its own quiet charm, especially in the early mornings of October when the mist rises from the river and the apple orchards turn golden. It is a place of transitions, where the modern world of cars meets the ancient world of mule tracks and mountain paths. Spending a night here allows you to experience the local lifestyle and witness the incredible hospitality of the Himachal people who are always ready with a smile and a warm cup of tea. :
