From Raipur, you can take a domestic flight to Maa Danteshwari Airport (JGB) in Jagdalpur. From Jagdalpur Airport, the falls are about 40 KMs away. A pre-booked taxi or a local cab is the best option for the final leg, which takes about 1. 5 hours. By Train (Nearest Railhead and Connectivity) The nearest convenient railhead is Jagdalpur Railway Station (JDP), which is well-connected to major cities like Visakhapatnam and Raipur via the Kiranul-Visakhapatnam railway line. From Jagdalpur Station, you can easily hire a jeep, taxi, or local bus. The drive covers the 40 KM distance in about 1 to 1. 5 hours. By Road (Self-Drive and Bus) Chitrakote Falls is located approximately 38-40 KMs from Jagdalpur on a well-maintained state highway. A self-drive or hired taxi is the most comfortable option. Jagdalpur is well-connected by National Highway (NH-30). Regular local and private bus services run from Jagdalpur towards Chitrakote village, though taxis offer more flexibility and direct access to the viewing area. By Local Transport (Jeep/Auto) From Jagdalpur city, the most common local transport is a shared jeep (locally called a 'sumo' or 'maxi-cab') or a dedicated taxi. Auto-rickshaws are generally not feasible for the full 40 KM trip but can be used for shorter distances once near the falls.
