The Dzulekie Biodiversity Conservation Committee (DBCC) is the grassroots body established by the local community of the Angami tribe in Dzulekie Village, which serves as the administrative and operational wing for the village's eco-tourism and conservation initiatives. The village made a landmark d ecision to transition from a hunting community to a wildlife sanctuary in 1999, a commitment that the DBCC upholds by enforcing a ban on hunting and logging. This body actively manages the Dzuleke Community-Conserved Area (CCA), ensuring the preservation of the rich forest ecosystem, which is home to various indigenous flora and fauna, including the endangered Blythe's Tragopan (Nagaland's state bird) and various trout species in the Dzulekie River. The committee works closely with organizations like the North-East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) and the Dzuleke Eco-Tourism Board (DETB) to train locals in hospitality and guide services, ensuring that tourism benefits are distributed equitably among the households on a rotational basis, thereby embedding sustainable practices into the community's livelihood and culture.

By Air:@Reach Dimapur Airport (DMU), then take a private taxi to Kohima (~3 hrs). From Kohima, hire a private taxi directly to Dzulekie Village (40 KM, ~1. 5-2 hrs), which is the most reliable option for reaching the village center directly.

By Train:@Reach Dimapur Railway Station (DMUR), then take a shared or private cab to Kohima. From Kohima, a dedicated local taxi (essential for the hilly road) will take you to Dzulekie.

By Road:@Drive or take a hired vehicle from Kohima via the road that passes near Khonoma. The road quality may be challenging in parts.

By Local Transport:@Limited shared taxis run from Kohima to the Dzulekie junction or nearby points, requiring a further walk or local hire for the final distance.
