How To Reach Godavari View Point
Kothagudem, Telangana, India
Place Overview: Godavari View Point (Parnasala) is a site of immense religious and historical significance located on the banks of the sacred Godavari river. According to the epic Ramayana, this is the place where Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lakshmana built a hermitage during their exile. The view point offers a breathtaking panoramic vista of the mighty river as it curves through the landscape. The area is filled with spiritual energy, and the gentle breeze from the river provides a sense of peace to all visitors. It is a part of the Parnasala village, which is dotted with various mythological landmarks. The river here is wide and calm, reflecting the clear blue sky during the winter months. Devotees often take a holy dip in the waters before visiting the small shrines nearby. The view point is especially popular during the early morning hours when the sun rises over the horizon, painting the water in hues of gold. It is also the site where the "Golden Deer" incident is believed to have occurred. The surrounding forest adds to the mystical charm of the location, reminding visitors of the ancient Dandakaranya. The local administration has developed basic amenities for pilgrims, including seating areas and paved walkways. It is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Bhadrachalam, as it completes the spiritual circuit. The convergence of nature and mythology makes it a unique destination.
