Gurudwara Godavarisar Sahib is a prominent Sikh shrine associated with the visit of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, after the historic battle of Muktsar. The site is steeped in spiritual history as it marks the location where Guru Sahib rested under a Beri tree and met with the Sodhi fam ily of Dhilwan Kalan. It is famously known for the incident where Guru Sahib changed his blue attire, which he had worn to escape from Machhiwara disguised as 'Uch Da Peer'. The Guru presented his blue robes to the Sodhi family as a token of blessing, and a portion of the fabric was kept by Bhai Maan Singh, starting the Nihang tradition of the 'Farla'. Devotees believe that a visit here brings immense peace and cleanses the soul of past burdens.
