How To Reach Injathotty Hanging Bridge
The Injathotty Hanging Bridge is a remarkable feat of local engineering and a major scenic attraction near Thattekad. It holds the distinction of being considered the longest suspension footbridge in Kerala, spanning an impressive length across the mighty Periyar River. The bridge was primarily buil t to connect the two banks of the river, linking the villages of Injathotty and Thattekad (or nearby settlements) and providing a safe, all-weather crossing for local residents, especially schoolchildren. For tourists, however, the bridge is a destination in itself. Walking across the narrow, gently swaying steel structure provides an exhilarating experience and offers panoramic, breathtaking views of the vast, forested riverbanks, the tranquil river waters, and the distant hills of the Western Ghats.
