How To Reach Kadampal Tailing Dam
Kirandul, Chhattisgarh, India:
Industrial Significance and Reservoir: Kadampal Tailing Dam is an artificial reservoir, an important part of the NMDC Bailadila Iron Ore Mining complex in Kirandul. It is not a conventional water dam but a 'tailing dam,' built to hold the waste materials (tailings) resulting from the iron ore proces sing/beneficiation process, specifically the tailings from the crushing and screening plants. While primarily industrial, the large water body and the surrounding hilly landscape have made it an interesting, quasi-tourist spot. The dam aids in environmental management by containing the slurry and allows for the recycling of water used in the beneficiation plant. The reservoir provides a picturesque, calm surface, especially at sunrise or sunset, contrasting the rugged terrain of the Bailadila hills. It plays a crucial role in the water and power supply for the Kirandul township.:

How to Reach

By Air: Fly to Jagdalpur Airport (approx. 124 KMS), then hire a taxi directly to Kirandul. Raipur Airport (approx. 390 KMS) is the main air hub.

By Train: Take the train to Kirandul Railway Station (KRDL), which is very close (a few KMS) to the Ghandhi Nagar area. From the station, an auto-rickshaw can take you directly to the view point.

By Road: It is located right on the periphery of Kirandul town in Ghandhi Nagar. Take the main road leading towards the NMDC complex. It is easily accessible by car or auto-rickshaw from the town center.

By Local Transport: Easily reachable by local auto-rickshaw or even by a short walk from some parts of the Kirandul township. :
